Berlin. The online service Arzttermine.de, Germany’s largest online scheduling platform for doctors and dentists, starts the new year with a million Euro investment of fresh capital from a strategic investor in the publishing industry, closing their round of financing. “Arzttermine.de wants to expand across Germany this year, so we are very excited about the strategic investment,” said Bjoern Keune, managing director and co-founder of Arzttermine.de. “We also plan to cover more specialist groups and continue to grow our team in all areas.” A collaboration in sales and reach is also planned.
In addition to the new strategic investor, the investment company Digital Pioneers from Bigpoint founder Heiko Hubertz and angel investors Dr. Pascal Zuta (CEO of Aeria Games Europe) and Frederik Fleck (Richmond View Ventures) have invested in Arzttermine.de before.
CatCap was the exclusive advisor to Arzttermine.de and its shareholders in this financing round.
Real value for patients and doctors
The demand for healthcare service and scheduling is so great that Arzttermine.de expanded from two initial cities to eight in 2012: In Berlin, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Cologne, Leipzig, and Munich patients can now find the right doctor, dentist, and specialist comfortably and around the clock. The number of registered doctors in the past year has tripled. “With this investment we can make our service available throughout Germany and thus help patients to get a doctor appointment,” said managing director Francis Trapp. Arzttermine.de offers real value for patients, reducing long waiting times for an appointment with a specialist, as well as for physicians, by offering appointments quickly and effectively over the Internet. Use of the service is free for patients. Doctors can offer appointments for free and without obligation. A small fee is required only if the doctor actively requires marketing. In addition, each doctor gets a free, search engine optimized profile page to showcase themselves and their practice.
Arzttermine.de facilitates easy access to doctors for patients. On the website patients and available appointments are brought together. Through the online booking process, appointments can also be made outside practice opening hours and appointments cancelled at short notice can be booked again. Use of the service is free for patients.
The Arzttermine.de team is based in Berlin. Investors are the investment company Digital Pioneers (http://digital-pioneers.de) from Bigpoint founder Heiko Hubertz and others such as a strategic investor in the publishing industry. Business Angel Investors are Frederik Fleck (Richmond View Ventures) and Dr. Pascal Zuta (CEO Aeria Games Europe).
