CatCap is selected consortium member supporting the development of business services for the Horizon 2020 SME Instrument.
The SME Instrument of the European Commission generates growth and jobs in innovative SMEs in Europe.
With SME Instrument the EU pursues the general objective to generate growth and jobs in innovative SMEs in Europe in the areas of the defined societal challenges. As part of Horizon 2020 – the EU’s EUR 80 billion Research and Innovation funding programme – the SME Instrument will invest €3 billion in 7,500 companies until 2020. So far 31.000 companies applied and 2.000 have recieved funding. In phase I SMEs recieve EUR 50,000 for a concept and feasibility assessment. PhaseII offers grants of up to EUR 2.5 million.
Phase III - Business Acceleration Service
Business Acceleration Services (so called Phase III) of the SME Instrument, running in parallel with Phase I and Phase II, provides SME beneficiaries with tailored-made support. Phase III supports European SMEs by providing them access to finance, markets, corporates and buyers. Goal is to create an innovation and growth community, not only for participating SMEs, but also for investors, corporates, coaches, and the SMEI’s Key Account Managers.
