Natalya Kaspersky will become majority shareholder at the German IT security company cynapspro GmbH. This strategic collaboration with the affiliated company InfoWatch will begin from 2012 onwards.

Natalya Kaspersky, co-founder and the former chairperson of the anti-virus market leader Kaspersky Labs has taken over the majority shake at German endpoint data protection specialists cynapspro GmbH from Ettlingen with her holding company InfoWatch Labs. The data leakage protection market leader InfoWatch, whose chief executive is Ms Kaspersky, also belongs to InfoWatch Labs Holding.

"cynapspro is already a highly successful company today, with superb products and a clearly defined strategy” explains Natalya Kaspersky, substantiating her entrance into the company and thereby the German market. "We are convinced that data protection will continue to gain importance for IT terminals of all kinds, and together we want to create a leading product range for companies of all sizes", Kaspersky describes the synergy potential between the companies.

Within the scope of the transaction, the two independent companies, cynapspro and InfoWatch, have agreed to cooperate more closely in the future. For example the management and the encryption of USB devices from cynapspro GmbH will be incorporated into the product portfolio of InfoWatch and OEM components. The collaboration should aid both companies in exploiting international markets more rapidly.

For cynapspro the entrance of Ms Kaspersky represents a further milestone in the company’s development and a validation of its strategy up to now. Even after the entrance of Natalya Kaspersky the company will continue to maintain its headquarters in Germany. As the new major investor Ms Kaspersky will not join the company management. The company will continue to be led by co-founder Sergej Schlotthauer.
