Mark Miller studied economics and business at the University of Witten/Herdecke and the University of Texas at Austin under a scholarship from the Association of German-American Clubs and a Fulbright scholarship. A recipient of the Bertram Prize for Economics, Mr. Miller is also a winner of the University of Kassel Entrepreneurship Essay Competition.
Holding a BA in business administration, he worked at Deutsche Bank in the corporate client and asset management businesses before joining Bertelsmann AG as a strategic investment analyst. He has been involved in more than 100 successful transactions.
Michael Moritz studied liberal arts at Albion College in Michigan, USA, and economics and law at Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg, the Free University of Berlin, the University of Bonn and the University of Cologne. In Berlin he worked at Treuhandanstalt to restructure and privatize the enterprise's SME holdings. Then as Corporate Finance Consultant at Doertenbach & Co. GmbH, Frankfurt, he primarily advised SMEs and their owners on strategic acquisitions and divestitures. Michael Moritz is Chairman of the Regulatory Commission of the organization Familienunternehmer/ASU and the Hamburg regional group, a member of the Board of Trustees of the ifo Institute’s Freundesgesellschaft and of Deutsche Stiftung Eigentum; he is a former member of the SME Advisory Council of the German Federal Ministry of Economics.
Caspar Graf Stauffenberg
Caspar Graf Stauffenberg studied business administration in Reutlingen and London through the European Partnership of Business Schools (EPBS). Before moving into the healthcare sector he was a consultant and project manager for Arthur D. Little in the firm's Strategy and Organization unit, as well as Project Manager for Mergers & Acquisitions at the Binding Group (now the Radeberger Group). Graf Stauffenberg was CFO and later CEO of MAP Medizin-Technologie GmbH, which was sold to the ResMed Group under his direction. There he was then CEO and Management Board Spokesman in charge of Marketing, Technology, and Customer Service. Before joining CatCap he was involved in starting up the orthopedics firm Aequos Endoprothetik GmbH as CEO and a shareholder. This company was sold to Lima Corporate of San Daniele, Italy.
Dr. Manfred Drax
Dr. Manfred Drax is an Associate Partner in CatCap Corporate Finance, whose expertise is a key addition to the CatCap Munich office's work in the fields of life science and medical technology. His many years of experience in information and communications technology also round out the CatCap service portfolio. Dr. Drax studied law at the Universities of Munich and Freiburg im Breisgau as well as business administration at FernUniverstität Hagen. Holding a doctorate in Corporate Law from the University of Bayreuth, Dr. Drax now has over 20 years of experience in the sectors of medical technology, life science and ICT as well as in numerous other segments of high-tech industry. His former positions include Managing Director/CEO and US CFO of Dornier Medizintechnik Group and COO of WaveLight AG (now Novartis), among others.
Daniel Dies studied business administration at the University of Bayreuth and holds a German Diplom-Kaufmann business degree. Before joining CatCap he was as an associate at MCF Corporate Finance GmbH in Hamburg and London and worked at Conergy AG, Hamburg, as Investment Manager Mergers & Acquisitions and Senior Project Manager Business Development. At CatCap Mr. Dies primarily advises clients in the industrial, automotive, cleantech and retail segments.
Daniel Garlipp studied business administration at the University of Regensburg, attended the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki as part of the Erasmus program, and holds a German Diplom-Kaufmann business degree. He has many years of experience in corporate finance with focuses on enterprise valuation, M&A, and financial and commercial due diligence. Prior to joining CatCap Mr. Garlipp was with KPMG Corporate Finance, Hamburg, Kuna & Co., Frankfurt, and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, Munich. Mr. Garlipp primarily advises CatCap clients in the professional services, IT, retail and real estate segments.
Paddy MccGwire is an Associate Partner at CatCap and Managing Director of Silverpeak.
He is a Co-Founder and Managing Director of Silverpeak having merged with Cobalt Corporate Finance, the TMT sector specialist adviser that he founded in 1996. The merger with Silverpeak in 2016 created a stronger and deeper international technology advisory platform. He is also Chairman of Worksmart, the market leader in people centric risk and compliance software. Paddy has extensive experience of creating value and an outstanding track record of successful deal making in the technology sector over 25 years. Prior to Cobalt, his experience includes 7 years at Private equity group 3i plc and at electronics group STC plc.
Paddy MccGwire has a BSc(Hons) in Management Sciences from the University of Manchester (UMIST) , is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists and Past President of Globalscope, the international M&A network he co –founded now with over 40 partner firms on all continents.
Pietro Strada is an Associate Partner at CatCap and Managing Director of Silverpeak.
He has 20 years of investment banking experience in the technology sector, during which he completed more than 60 transactions including high profile trade sales, public takeovers, mergers, financings and divestitures. His deals have been mostly cross-border covering a vast number of countries in Europe, North America and Africa. Prior to Silverpeak, he ran the independent boutique Centerboard Partners, and before he was a Managing Director at Torch Partners. His investment banking career began at Broadview (later Jefferies) where he was a Principal. His other professional roles include Corporate Development Director at LexisNexis (a division of Reed Elsevier), consultant at Bain & Co. and an electronic engineer at OHB System and Italtel.
Pietro holds an MBA from INSEAD and a MSc in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
Nico graduated from Münster University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration, and received a LL.M. in Mergers & Acquisitions from Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. He has more than 10 years experience in Corporate Finance and worked mostly on cross-border M&A transactions where he focused on mid-sized companies. Prior to joining CatCap, Nico worked for Natexis Banques Populaires (New York), Groupe BPCE (Paris & Frankfurt) and CMC Consulting Group (Munich).
